Fans of early 2000s southern metal can rejoice as Mastodon recently teased an upcoming collaboration with Lamb of God.

On Instagram, Mastodon shared artwork with the text “A flood is coming … and most of you will die” accompanied with roman numerals and the names of both bands. The project will be released Sept. 12.

The Georgia sludge kings just finished their tour with Virginia New Wave of American Metal legends Lamb of God, with both celebrating the 20th anniversary of their 2004 masterpieces Leviathan and Ashes of the Wake.

The Ashes of Leviathan Tour kicked off on July 19 in Grand Prairie, Texas and wrapped up on Aug. 31 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Fans have begun speculating about the project, with a split release, collaboration track and covers of each other’s songs all possibilities being thrown around. Lamb of God has yet to tease the project.
